There will always be some debate in the fitness community regarding training on an empty stomach. This mainly affects anyone who needs to get to the gym early in the morning. I completely understand that eating a full breakfast before a 6am workout can be difficult, if not impossible. Even if you prepare food ahead of time you will have to allow ample time for digestion as well as getting to the gym for your training session.
Training on an empty stomach or not can also affect someone taking the evening classes as well. This may lead to you being in a partially fasted state which can negatively impact your ability to perform your best in the gym.

And yes, everyone who walks through the door at Solidarity is an athlete.

I was very active as a child and competed in equestrian events. In high school, I ran cross country, played soccer, and cheered. Andrew Van der Meer. Yes, I am a Crossfitter. I love being able to do something different everyday to push and challenge my body and myself. Like with most things in life if you follow your pace, listen to your body and progress with the right coaching, what you do will only get better. Sometimes you need time away from a friend or significant other in order to bring balance to your relationship. Stand up in your normal standing position and lift one leg. Can you keep your balance? You close your eyes and you can feel your hips adjusting to your position, the feel of gravity on your legs and chest; and with every breath your body adjusts, moving into a deeper and different position than the breath before.
Feels good, right? In that moment you are creating a better mind-body connection. Doing something over and over again you can become better at it— you adapt.
